2. Solutionary Spotlight: Isabella Stevenson

Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots is a global movement of empowered youth creating a better world for Animals, People and the Environment. Our individual members are called Solutionaries.  Isabella, aged 17, has a passion for sustainability and social justice. “I have always felt compassion towards people, as well as having a connection to the natural world. I feel that it’s our responsibility to ensure that we don’t leave future generations to solve world problems caused by this one.” Click here to read about Isabella’s activities.

4. Roots & Shoots making a Difference in US Prison

Marc Bekoff, professor at the University of Colorado, is one of the world’s pioneering cognitive ethologists and co-founder, with Jane Goodall, of Ethologists for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Marc has been teaching  animal behavior and conservation biology at the Boulder County Jail as part of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program for 14 years. The course is one of the most popular in the jail. Read more here.
