Our Programs

Our Programs

Our work is all about empowering local communities.

We believe collaborative work brings positive change.

We work with local people helping them to build sustainable livelihoods, conserve the natural environment and put a stop to the horrific bush meat trade.

Mission

Our mission is to preserve African Great Apes and their habitats, with an emphasis on chimpanzees.

Strategic Objectives

We will achieve our mission by:

1)  Integrating CCC planning and socio-economic development in selected Great Ape habitat

2)  Advancing the global understanding of Great Apes through research

3)  Enhancing the capacity of animal sanctuaries to achieve excellent care and facilitate conservation education to local people

4) Increase public awareness of the plight of Great Apes and the importance of conserving their habitat.

Strategic Plan 2010 - 2014

In the next five years we will be working on two major biodiversity hotspots:

The Albertine Rift: Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda & Burundi

Come and join us in our efforts to save what is left of Africa's wildlife, habitat and communities.
